about us

Hauraki Marine Services is a long established company dealing in all aspects of swing moorings including inspecting, servicing, recovery, repositioning and new installations since 2008.

Our team includes Laurence Wall who is the director and barge skipper, Leonie Wall director and admin and Daniel Lawton the barge deckhand. We are committed to providing the best customer service possible and ensuring the integrity of your mooring hardware for peace of mind.

Most of our work is based in the Auckland/Rodney region although we do operate as far south as Coromandel Harbour to Whangarei Harbour in the north as well as service the Kaipara Harbour.

Betty (the barge) is purpose built and therefore very efficient at all aspects of handling swing mooring hardware. Betty is always fully stocked with materials required to complete all mooring work.

  • Cost is $240 + GST to lift and relay your mooring hardware and provide an inspection report for the administering authority. Any time required for mooring repairs is barge time and will be charged separately and any materials used will be charged accordingly.

  • In most cases the mooring hardware requires inspection every 3 years.

  • It is best to book ASAP upon notification from the administering authority. 3 to 6 months in advance of the due date is best to allow us to plan to inspect and service your mooring as close as possible to its due date. Once we receive your booking we will notify the administering authority that you are booked.

  • You can be present during the inspection however due to safety requirements it is necessary that you remain on your vessel or dinghy during the inspection of hardware.

  • Yes, in most cases we can recover your mooring hardware using a grapnel.
